Synopsis: How to prime the Empty DF CISS continuous ink system using the one way valve tool

A few things to remember when filling the ink cartridges and CISS system.

  • Please find an easy-to-clean place to work when working with ink.
  • Most of the refillable cartridges with auto reset chips cannot be mixed with original cartridges;
  • the same situation applies for the non-auto reset chip cartridges.
  • It is best to install and use all 6 cartridges at the same time.
  • Do not use any software and or chip resetters to reset the chip as it may damage the auto reset chips.

Chip reset:

  • If the indicator light is flashing when printing, it suggests that you need to reset the chip to full status. Please turn off your printer for about 30 seconds and switch it back on. Ink meter bar should show full ink status. You can then start printing as usual.
  • Do not use any software and or chip resetters to reset the chip as it may damage the auto reset chips.
  • Note: If your printer is Manufacturing after June 2007, you may have to remove the cartridges and install again to reset the chips

Nozzle Check

After set up print the nozzle, If it shows any breaks (it maybe caused by air bubbles in the printing head). Please do a nozzle clean for 1 or 2 times. If it is still showing little breaks, specially for only one color please turn the printer off. It's unnecessary to repeatedly clean the printer-head. Just keep the printer unused (turned off) for about few hours and then print the nozzle check again.

1. Locate the 6 small plugs . Remove the plug for the color that you want to fill-prime r260_1
2. Using the syringes Inject 30cc to 35cc (ml) into chamber. r260_2
3 Insert the plug back in to the small hole (air vent) Please see picture on the side
4. Insert the filling tool with one way valve into the open hole, make sure that is air tight.
5 Pull back the plunger of injector to draw the air out of the ink chamber and cartridges
6 Push the plunger forware to push the air out of the syringes, Repeat to pulling and push for about 8 to 10 time to vacuum the air of the cartridges
7. Slowly ( very slowly )& carefully remove the filling tool plug as you remove the filling tool plug the ink will go to the cartridges, if there are any air in the ink tube do not remove the small plug for the air vent add another 10cc and repeat step 4 to 6.
8. Fill the rest of the ink tank , close both plugs and move to the next color.
