On The printers that have the newest Epson Firmware. When first install the cartridges or when the cartridges read at empty the printer will show the cartridges are not recognize by the printer, these step below will show you how to clear out that error message

]1. Press the change cartridge button where the red light indicates.

2. The cartridge carrier will move to the center of the printer and will indicate which cartridge needs to be reset or replaced by following the arrow located on your printer. This arrow, as shown on the picture below is indicating that the black needs attention.Then press the change cartridges button again.

3. At this time, the cartridges will move the change cartridges position.

4.. Lift up the cartridge about 1/8" inch or just enough for the chip contact to disconnect with the printer head carrier. Press the cartridge back into place. On some systems, it is better to lift all cartridges at the same time due to their connection.

5. Press the change cartridge button. The cartridge will reset back to full
