How to replace the Hp 4500/4550 ( 8500 8550)Drum unit reset chip
PLEASE NOTE: Our Chips intended to replace into the functional Drum Unit. If (before you replace the chip) your Drum is already printing with streaks, smudges or lines, The drum is basically already defective or exhibiting signs of defect, and replacing the chip it will not bring it back to life. Drum have multiple moving parts that do wear out and affect quality. Our chip are intended to provide the same quality prints as the last few pages that your printer printed before you replace the chip. DO NOT replace the chip in the defective Drum ( imaging unit)
Remove all 8 screws from cover ( 4 crews for the 8500), move drum cover arm (with spring) away and pull the tension bar out.
With the cover now removed you can remove the 2 screws holding the chip connector out see the arrow, Remove the old chip. Insert the new chip, then assemble the Drum unit. If you have problem after installing the whole package into printer, specially the hp 8550 ,just remove the micro chip only see picture, then install to the original HP housing ( plastic parts) it will work
