1. Remove the drum unit ( imaging unit) out of printer, using soft cloth to cover the drum parts see Pic.1 2. Place a piece of tape on this area to keep the unit together as the gray part of the unit is removed. 3. Remove the five (5) screws as shown on the image. 4. Please note that this image shows a spring / lock piece. When doing this step, please place a finger to hold this down when proceeding to the next step of removing the gray cover. 5. This image shows the gray cover removed and the chip will be visible. Replace the chip as shown on the next image. 6. Re-assemble the gray cover and tighten the screws only halfway so that when proceeding to the next step will be easier. 7. Re- install the spring / lock piece and then finish tightening the screws into place. 8. Remove the soft cloth cover and tape before installing the drum back into the printer. After installing the image unit, you may see an Incorrect I-Unit message on the printer. This is common when using third party parts. |
